Running of the Leprechauns
Get dressed up in your St. Patricks Day gear, lace up those running shoes and come and enjoy a little fun race on Saturday, March 16th.Starting at 8:00 at Satterfield Landing & Lark Ave in Nags Head at the OBX Soccer Complex and choose between two races. You can choose a 5K race or a 10Krace in which there each runner will receive a Finishers Medal and an Event Shirt. There will also be awards for the top 3 Male & Females finishers for both the 5K and 10K.
After you have completed your race, come and enjoy a fun Irish-themed after-party at Outer banks Sporting Events and enter in the Get Lucky Costume Contest. The after-party will also have Sweet Potato Biscuits and yes even beer. What a fun race that you can run while on vacation to the Outer Banks. You can sign up here today to join in this race.
30th Annual Kellys St. Patricks Day Parade
After a wonderful start to the holiday weekend, head over to Nags Head to attend the 30th Annual Kellys St. Patricks Day parade. This is the largest St. Patricks Day parade in the state of North Carolina let alone on the Coast. There is a theme each year and this years theme is Red, White, and Blue...and Green. Time to take matters seriously and there are even rewards on the line here. They are giving away prizes for the Best Overall; Best Float; Best Unity and Best Band/Music Group. Prizes will be awarded after the parade is over so come on over to the parade this year to watch the fun unfold! The parade will begin at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 17th, 2019 at Bladen Street north to Driftwood Street on Virginia Dare Trail (Beach Road). Dont miss out on the fun action this year as the parade marches on!
St. Patrick's Day is one of those holidays that gives everyone a reason to get together. After the parade, it's time feast on the annual green food and drinks.
